About
Deepwater Soul Society’s musical style is as diverse as the band members themselves, giving the group their unique sound: smooth, powerful, and soulfully dark. This Charleston rock power trio puts a wide range of tones and tunes into their portfolio, creating there own genre of progressive rock. The pensive lyrics and colorful melodies and rhythms create a seamless mesh where grassroots meets new-wave rock and acoustic meets electric. Although far from a jam-band, they do quite the job at grabbing and pulling in jam-band fans. You will never see them play the same show twice, and yet they keep their music structured and their sound comfortably familiar.
Deepwater Soul Society consists of singer/bassist Josh Brewer, lead guitarist Sean Money, drummer and backing vocalist Daniel Wilson. While Brewer inspires most of the pensive and seductive lyrics for the songs, each member contributes to the writing process in dynamic and prolific ways. With this being said, Deepwater Soul Society has created a dark and sultry, yet energized and up-beat texture that moves the body and the soul. Their poetic lyrics and captivating arrangements take the listener between musical genres and into a labyrinth of melodic reverberation.
